Questions to ask before and after you create your digital product

When thinking about creating a digital product, most people go directly to the execution and technical details. What am I going to create? How will I create it? What will it look like? How will I deliver it? How much should I charge?

These are all great questions and answering them is a necessary part of the process.

I invite you to take a step back though and look at the big picture. Specifically, the before and after.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself before you begin creating your product:

❓ Who is my audience and where are they?
❓ What problem(s) do they have?
❓ How can I help solve their problem(s)?
❓ How can I get them from where they are to where they want to be?

Asking yourself these questions ahead of time can help you tailor your solution to the specific needs of your audience (instead of what you *think* those needs might be).

Then, ask yourself a few questions about what will happen after you create your product:

❓ How can I engage with my audience to let them know I understand their problem and have a solution for them?
❓ What related content can I create that could lead in to my product? (Think free blog posts, podcast episodes, lead magnets, etc.)
❓ How can I ask for and use feedback about my product to improve?
