The woman behind the wheel of Scenic Route Digital

Life (and business) is about the journey, not the destination.

My dad inspired this philosophy in me. One of my favorite memories is of a road trip we took from Pennsylvania to Wyoming. Yellowstone was our final destination, but the trip wasn’t just about Yellowstone — we also visited the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, the Corn Palace, Wall Drug and the Wisconsin Dells, just to name a few. We sat on the banks of the Yellowstone River, we grilled out of the back of our gold Chevy truck and I took photos of the sights that we saw (with a film camera).

I use this philosophy when teaching service providers to create their first digital product.

  • Have a plan and destination in mind
  • Enjoy the journey along the way
  • Explore new sights
  • Find a pace that you can maintain

I hate the phrase go big or go home. I’m 100% in favor of small, achievable steps. My favorite quote is, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
