How are you experimenting in your business? 🤔

Hey Reader,

When I work with clients on their digital products, I explain that there’s no one, correct path. Sure, there are similarities in the process – carving out time to create the product, writing sales content to sell your product and the like – but you get to decide the specific path you take.

So what if you don’t know? What if you’re solid on the product, but aren’t sure on the price? What if you are ready to send sales emails, but don’t know how many to send or how often?

That’s where experimentation comes into play.

Here’s an example.

I just launched the podcast and want to promote it, but I’m not sure where or how. After agonizing over this for awhile, I came up with a plan and am going to test it out for 90 days.

I’m on Twitter and LinkedIn, so I’ll post there (3 and 2 days per week respectively). I also want to try YouTube Posts, so I’ll do one of those per week.

Earlier in the week I’ll promote the upcoming episode and later in the week, I’ll promote an older episode. I’ll also alternate, so if the current episode is an interview, I’ll promote that earlier in the week and promote an older, solo episode later in the week.

I’ll try a mix of shorter posts and longer posts (depending on the platform). I’ll also try sharing different links – to the YouTube video, to the post on my website that has the video and audio player, to the audio-only sharing page and some will have no links at all.

I have a spreadsheet where I’ll make a few notes of what I did and then in 90 days I’ll take a look at what performed best. Hopefully I’ll be able to determine what kinds of posts got the most engagement.

I’ll also look at what felt best for me. Was it too aggressive of a schedule? Did I really dislike posting on a certain platform?

I just started yesterday and I’m excited to see how it goes.

So what about you? How are you experimenting in your business in the next month or 90 days? Reply to this email and let me know.

Best,
Rene
