How to get more done with time constraints

I remember when I graduated from college and started my first job.

I had a really difficult time because time seemed endless.

From that point on and for the next 40+ years I would just be doing the same thing.

In all the years prior, time was broken down into semesters, quarters and school years.

But now, not so much.

Many years later, I’m finally starting to realize that my personality works best with time constraints.

I love The 12 Week Year for this reason. Every 12 weeks, I create a new set of goals and tactics. There’s a very specific beginning and a very specific end.

I’ve applied this to exercising. I enjoy working through various Beachbody programs – anywhere from 3-4 weeks to 3-4 months at a time. Then they’re finished and I can start something new.

These deadlines are all self-imposed. I decide on my own goals and tactics, I decide which program I’m going to do. I’m accountable to myself. It helps when I share my intentions with others for that additional layer of accountability. This is why I love masterminds, but it can be any sort of group and in any sort of format.

So, take a look at what’s not working for you in your everyday life.

Is there a way that you can make a change for a certain amount of time and then review?
